What Customization Options Do Carilovalves Offer

Industrial Machinery & Manufacturing By huanggs Rowi GmbH Editorial

CARILO customization is mainly about engineering fit: valve design, size, pressure class, bore, seat type, materials, end connections, operation method, inspection scope and project documents. These choices depend on the fluid, pressure, temperature, corrosion risk, operating frequency, actuator requirement and standards in the order.

Valve type and structure

CARILO publishes several relevant product families. The forged soft-seated floating ball valve line suits clean industrial media where tight soft-seat shutoff is needed. The forged soft-seated trunnion ball valve line is aimed at larger or higher-pressure pipeline isolation with supported-ball construction and seat-arrangement choices. CARILO also publishes metal-seated, cryogenic and compact DBB/manifold-type solutions for different conditions.

Bore, ends and operation

Customization can include full bore or reduced bore, raised-face or ring-type-joint flanges, socket-weld ends, butt-weld ends and project-specific connection details. Operation can be manual or automated: lever, gearbox, bare shaft, pneumatic actuator, electric actuator or hydraulic actuator may be considered after torque and duty are checked.

Materials, seats and seals

The forged metal-seated ball valve page is relevant when heat, particles or frequent cycling can damage soft seats. The cryogenic ball valve page is relevant when low-temperature service such as LNG, LOX, LIN or LAR requires low-temperature materials, extended bonnet design and cryogenic testing. For standard clean service, soft-seat materials and elastomers still need to match the fluid, pressure and temperature.

Tests and documents

Customization also includes the records required by the buyer: material certificates, heat-number traceability, dimensional reports, pressure-test reports, NDE, PMI, third-party inspection, ITP, FAT files and a final document package. CARILO’s service page lists replacement parts, technical help, valve inspection and project document support when the scope is agreed.

Information to include in an RFQ

  • Valve type, NPS/DN, pressure class and quantity.
  • Fluid, pressure, temperature, solids, corrosion and operating frequency.
  • Full bore or reduced bore; pigging or low-pressure-drop requirement.
  • End connection: RF, RTJ, socket weld, butt weld or other.
  • Manual operation or actuator type, including fail position and power supply.
  • Body, ball, stem, seat, seal, bolting, coating and sour/low-temperature requirements.
  • Standards, tests and documents required by the project or end user.
  • Destination country, delivery date and whether partial shipment is acceptable.

Ask CARILO to list any deviation from your data sheet separately. That makes it clear which custom features are included in the quotation and which items still require technical confirmation.
